Any remaining balances, including those incurred by adding classes will be charged at the end of your show day after you confirm charges are correct at the Show Office.
Entries will close Friday one week prior to the show. If entries warrant, a show may be closed earlier. In that case, notices will be posted on the official LWSC Facebook page. HorseShowTime entries open 8:00pm Monday the day after a previous show.

How to Get Your Number
The show office is open from 12pm-6pm on Friday and at 6:30am Saturday and Sunday morning. When arriving at the show office, you will be asked to confirm the classes that you have entered, sign any remaining forms, and give the secretary either a credit card number or an open check. This will be held for the duration of the show. You will sign any releases at this time as well. The show secretary will then give you a number which is used for the entirety of the weekend for your horse. Multiple riders on the same horse use the same number, so make sure to keep track of it!
How to Close your Bill
After you are finished with your classes, you will need to come to the show office to close out your check. The show secretary will go over the charges with you, make any changes or corrections, and give you your final bill. You then fill out your open check or approve the amount on your credit card, collect any ribbons you won, and head home! If you do not come to the office and close your check, the secretary will do so for you and you will be responsible for any charges.

Jumpers (Saturday)Jumper TablesThere are optimum time courses from crossbars up to 0.65m (2'1") and timed courses from 0.70m-1.0m (2'3"-3'3").
In an optimum time round, riders try to get as close to a measured time for the course as possible without incurring penalties for knocking down a jump or going over the time allowed. There are no jump-offs. In our shows, jumps in these divisions are simpler and more inviting. Courses are straightforward and are meant to introduce new riders and horses to the show environment. In a Table II Sec. 2 (b) course, also known as a Jump-off round, riders complete a course while trying not to incur jump or time penalties. If they succeed, the rider stays in the ring and rides a shortened jump-off course immediately following their first round. In a Table II Sec. 2 (c) course, also known as Power and Speed, riders complete a course of 6-7 jumps that are untimed. If they are clear upon crossing the finish line, they immediately continue to a second portion of the course, which is timed. Time starts as the rider crosses the finish line. The fastest time with least amount of faults wins the class. |
Hunters (Sunday)Hunters vs. EquitationThis show includes both hunter and equitation classes, on the flat and over fences. Heights range from ground poles to 3' separated into junior and senior divisions. Ground poles through 18" takes place in our smaller ring, with more inviting jumps, simpler courses, and no added flowers, panels, or decoration to the jumps. This creates a safe, relaxed environment for new riders and horses to start their showing careers.
Hunter classes are judged on the horse's rhythm, form, and movement. Consistency and effortlessness are rewarded. The horse should look enjoyable to ride and eager to do his job. Equitation classes are judged on the rider's effectiveness, position, and style. Correctness of rider position is rewarded. The horse should be well schooled and obedient to the rider. We host an equitation medals series, which is a two round specialty class for junior and amateur members only. The first round is on the flat and the second is over a course of 2'6" jumps. They are entered and pinned separately and the overall top 4 riders will be invited back for a ride-off for the LWSC medal. |

VolunteeringAll members are encouraged to volunteer to help their club for the simple joy of being part of this great organization. However, there are some distinct advantages to volunteering as well. All members who perform 8 hours of volunteering are eligible for year-end awards at our annual awards banquet. Please stop in at the ribbon tent to offer your services. There all all sorts of positions available - from handing out ribbons, jump crew, to running the back gate.
Please see the "volunteer" tab under "club info" for the QR code or form to document your hours! |
Show RulesOur show rules are simple and easy to follow. We expect healthy, well cared for horses and thoughtful, well-mannered riders. ASTM-approved hard hats are required for all ages when mounted at all LWSC events and boots with a heel are mandatory. Numbers must be in plain sight of the judge. Riders are not expected to dress in formal attire, though many choose to at the hunter shows. A full list of rules can be found in the link below.
