College Scholarship

LWSC offers a $1,000.00 scholarship annually.  You do not need to be a LWSC member to receive the scholarship. 
 
Scholarship Use:  
The Scholarship must be used for degrees in equine, environmental or forestry areas of study.  It must be used at a two- or four-year accredited college or university within the academic year following receipt of the scholarship. It may be used for tuition and/or fees.
 
Selection Criteria:
All applicants will be judged on:
1. Completed application form, including essay
2. Letter of recommendation
 
Application Date:
All applications must be postmarked by September 30th of the applicable year.
 
Selection Process:
All applicants must complete the written application form provided below. Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection panel comprised of LWSC board members and/or Bridle Trails State Park manager.  Finalists may be asked for an interview by board member(s) of LWSC.
 
Relatives of potential applicants will be excluded from serving on the selection panel.  Board members and their relatives are not eligible for this scholarship.
